Awesome spot to sit outside and take it easy. This place has the best vibe of all the places I've tried in Gulf Shores. The outside area is right on the bay. There are swings and bar seating looking out over the water - directly facing the sunset I might add. Hula hoops and hammocks round out the relaxed atmosphere. This place also has the best drink specials I've found in Gulf Shores - $2 craft beers (try the pineapple hefeweizen if they have it)! $5 margaritas too. The food was great, the drinks were great, service was great - and honest! Which I love. Overall, top notch spot. Just remember to bring cash - this place is cash only, and does have an ATM, but on our particular visit the ATM wasn't working so we ran up the road to Regions Bank.

Was in town all week and are here last day..It was the BEST food and BEST service that we had all week. Small place but it didn't matter - food was hot and tasted great!!! Thanks ladies for taking great care of us.

This place is awesome! Dog friendly too!! The boom boom shrimp are yummy... As is the house Bloody Mary. I got the wings (sweat heat) and they were pretty good- I wish they had BBQ though. My husband got the half dozen raw oysters and said they were sooo good. :-) you must go! We went here one night when we were camping at gulf state park.

Atmosphere: small shack-like. Hole in the wall feel. Overall not my favorite but I didn't hold this against them as it's what they are going for. Food: excellent seasoning! Tuna dip appetizer was $9 for 1/3 pound of tuna fish salad. The seasoning was nice, but it was way overpriced. I would avoid that based on value alone. Blackened fish tacos, lemon pepper shrimp, sweet heat sauce all great! Cash only "to keep our prices competitive". That turns me off in a tourist town. Also, the prices are reasonable, but not necessarily cheaper than I'd expect. In fact for a small place that appears to have low overhead compared to other more elaborate restaurants and that takes cash only its more expensive than I'd expect. BOTTOM LINE: Excellent seasoned food and if you want a local hole-in-the-wall, I'd recommend this place.

I agree with a previous reviewer who said this place is hard to find. Maps don't ever seem to put it in the correct place and you have to drive through the parking lot of another business to get to it. That said, it's worth the trouble. My wife and I split oysters which were the best we had while we were in Gulf Shores. As my main dish I had the fish tacos, hot and tasty. My daughter enjoyed the live music while sitting in the swings. It's a great little place. Only downside and the reason I give four stars is that they don't take credit cards. I don't carry much cash on vacation, so we ended up using all of it on our dinner that evening. If you go, make sure you have enough cash on hand.

The chargrilled Cajon oysters were amazing. The shrimp po boy was lacking Shrimp but still good. Boom Boom Shrimp is good but thought it would have more kick to them. Casual dining, looks like a dive bit its a must to try. Will visit again.

Excellent Cajun oysters!! Outdoor seating with live music and gorgeous sunset. This little dive has just become my new favorite in gulf shores.

I was actually looking for a different restaurant but turned in here and said what the heck. Great sunset view good drinks and the food was good. It's beach bar food and it wasn't expensive. The wings were great.

Read good reviews and decided to give High Tide a try. Finding it is not easy--GPS was very confused! When driving south on 59, turn right between RJ's Liquors and David's Gallery. Oysters raw & grilled with Parmesan & garlic were amazing! The Boom-Boom Shrimp & wings with bourbon & molasses were delicious! Keep in mind--no credit cards--just hit the ATM---it's worth the effort!

Awesome place. Yelp is great for finding hidden gems and this place was better than expected. Waitress was the nicest, most personable person. Drinks were to die for and the food was out of this world. Probably going back tomorrow. A definite must do in Gulf Shores. Skip the chain places and hit the local out of the way dives. You won't regret it.

Great location and good food! I came here early on a solo lunch while we were on vacation. The building is fun and the atmosphere was just what I was looking for. I had a 30A Beach Blonde Ale and the Cajun burger for lunch. I upgraded to onion rings and am glad that I did! The onion rings were perfect. Not too much breading and obviously homemade. My burger was good. It had a spicy Cajun seasoning and sautéed jalapeños on top of it. It came with an orange sauce for dipping. I ended up using the dipping sauce primarily for my onion rings. Over all, I found the staff friendly and enjoyed being at a not very busy touristy spot. I will be back in the future to get me some of their oysters. Also, they only take cash so make sure you, you know, have cash.

Got 3 dozen oysters - two raw and one Cajun. All were fantastic. Definitely a local gem.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome and that's the food! The service, awesome, awesome, awesome. This is my second trip here, I can't find fault with anything. The burgers are the best in the area, it's just a damn good burger. First time I had the build your own, the fried egg on the burger was cooked perfectly. This time I ordered the mushroom Swiss and done very well. I'm most impressed. Once again I ordered the kicked up Cajun Oysters and Acme Oyster House will have a run for the money. This is a tiny place, that packs a punch!

Quite the hidden gem here by Gulf! I ate a dozen oysters... ROCKEFELLERS. ..OMG.... and the Cajun were fantastic! My wife has the Bleu and Bacon burger she said was better then mine on the grill :( *tear* ... my 2 children liked they *typical* shrimp and hush puppies... well done HIGH TIDE....WELL DONE!!

Skip the cheese dip. The boom boom shrimp was delicious and worth stopping in for. Great place to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat. Also has live music - which we didn't stay for but would be fun (might have to go back!)

Very good. A must if your visiting Gulf Shores. We got oysters on the half shell, grilled fish tacos, PO boy and the boom boom shrimp. All were excellent.

Total dive = me loving it. Atmosphere and Food were phenomenal. Raw oysters were excellent and smoked tuna dip was great as well. I'm a sucker for dive bars, and I've found my New haunt while at the beach.

A great dive--who doesn't like that? Most seating is outside on the sand but there is some indoor seating available. The tables and some seats are swings (suspended by ropes from the ceiling). They have a full bar and can pour up anything you can think of -a good selection of rums if that interests you! The food is the typical beach seafood. Oysters, of course, fish, shrimp, oyster baskets. We went for drinks and to hear a friend play music. We didn't eat here so I can't say how good it was but they do have baked oysters which looked incredible. They have live music most weekends. High Tide is dog friendly and has a good local vibe, at least in the off season.

On a whim my hubby and I decided to stop here and enjoy a cold beer and some raw oysters. Best decision of the day! We were warmly greeted by Jennifer. Hardest decision was what beer to order. Jennifer walked us thru the menu and explained that everything is made from scratch. We had the awesome smoked tuna dip, oysters raw and grilled ( garlic parmesan-her recommendation) and just enjoyed the laid back ambiance ofthe place. Will definitely be back before the week is over.

The food and atmosphere are nice, but the menu is overpriced. We felt $13.99 for 8 tiny shrimp, 2 hush puppies, some onion rings and about 4 bites of slaw a bit much. We figured that for the price, a friend and I could share, but it was a nothing special small serving. The flavors and sauces were good, but I could eat better for less somewhere else. Also, we expected big gulf shrimp, but they were tiny farmed imports. It was very disappointing.

To say that we left disappointed is an understatement. We visited High Tide due in large part to positive yelp reviews and my love of local less known restaurants, especially after visiting Gulf Shores for 14 years. The wait staff was the most lackluster part of our visit- it took over 30 minutes to get our two orders of oysters and we were the only guests sitting inside. Then, after failing to flag down our waitress who was loudly complaining about the cook's attitude, I had to go up to the bar and ask for silverware. Finally, the waitress did decide to come back to see how we were doing, we asked for another round of beers. She proceeded to go stand at the bar and flirt with a male patron who had just walked in. I had to go up to the bar again to ask for our beers, she at least seemed slightly embarrassed she had forgotten. The oysters were okay- entirely too much blue cheese on my order. To top it all off, the local "talent" that was playing outside was less than enjoyable. It's safe to say that we will not be back.

Chose this restaurant after reading reviews on Yelp. It is a true gem!! The oysters Rockefeller are to die for! Our waitress, Jennifer, was incredibly helpful and offered up several suggestions including boom boom shrimp tacos and the potato salad! We were thoroughly delighted by both! It is a very casual bar that has a fantastic outdoor seating/entertainment area that is frequently regularly by locals. Highly recommend! NOTE: the only take cash. This is why I gave it 4 stars vs. 5.

I stopped in with my family on a rainy day and was very surprised. The food was outstanding. The place is on the small side but huge on service and friendliness. We started with oysters on the half shell that were larger than normal and quite delicious. We all ended up getting hamburgers and fries and everyone really enjoyed everything. One last tip - this is a cash only restaurant so be prepared. But do not let that stop you - it is worth every penny!

I hesitate to recommend this joint due to limited seating. The Cajun oysters and the build your own burgers were delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient and the beer selection is better than other restaurants. We sat at the bar, best seat in the house.

All I can say is, I finally found my place in Gulf Shores. This place was AWESOME! Drawbacks, limited seating and cash only, but there is an ATM on site. Everything else about the place rocks. Started off with Bloody Mary, which should probably be called a Bloody Mary in the Garden with her Pig. This thing had all kinds if pickled veggies stuck in it including not one but TWO slices of bacon. Yes, I'm talking about the Bloody Mary drink. This thing rocked!! Had the Boom Boom Shrimp as appetizer. Fried shrimp in buffalo sauce with blue cheese dressing. It was good but not outstanding, Then I had the fried oysters basket with onion rings and hush puppies. OMG the oysters were phenomenal, the best I've had in Gulf Shores to date. Kids had build your own burgers and they were awesome, yes I tried them too. After you place your order you can lounge by the lagoon in a hammock or hoopla hoop on the dock, your choice. I'm sorry but I did not get the waitresses name but she was great too. High Tide, you are our new home!!!

First time to Gulf Shores. This place is awesome...ridiculously good food and the margaritas were perfect. Especially when you get to finish them in the hammocks vs swings watching the intercostal. We will definitely be back.

Tried to have dinner here, a dog came out of the kitchen to great us and people in parking lot were getting a drunken whip-cracking lesson @ 7:42 pm Sunday evening. Sorry, no longer on our list. Menu looked good and was interested by other comments.

Wow! After passing this location for the past few months, I couldn't wait try to it out once they opened. I was only more excited to try it after reading very positive reviews. All I can say is, you must go here. The burgers are excellent, served hot and come with a side of your choice. I had the hangover burger that had a fried egg, bacon and plenty of cheese. I'm convinced this could cure any hangover.. And if you're not hungover, it served as an excellent and satisfying lunch. I can't wait to go back soon and try the rest of their menu.

This place has potential - nice vibe, hammocks and swinging seats, live music. However, the waitress/bartender was completely disinterested and borderline rude. That, paired with the mediocre food warrants a rating of only 2 stars.

Little place kind of hidden from road. Tried a couple of tourist favorites but over an hour wait. Came to High Tides. Live music outside. Friendly server Shelby. Had a child in our party. Took good care of her. Grilled oysters were great as was shrimp. Enjoyed it. Give it a try!

This place is fantastic. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is laid back, and the food is delicious. We ordered a burger and oysters. Both insanely good! Tip: it's cash only. Come prepared for this. Just go!

Super fun place! The have swings as barstools and hammocks everywhere! Definitely a beachy feel. They have outdoor local music which is always fun. The server we had was great! It was her second day on the job so she couldn't answer all of my questions but she always found an answer for me. Their Cajun chargrilled oysters are fabulous and i don't even like cooked oysters that much. The only problem I had was as much as I love music it was a little too loud and hard to hear the person sitting right next to me and I would not recommend the shrimp po boy. It had 6 medium shrimp on a large piece of bread. They used a bunch of lettuce and tomato as filler, not worth the price unfortunately. The shrimp tasted great, just not enough.

Great Burgers and super friendly staff! They also have Po Boys and seafood baskets, but I can't move past the burger. Maybe next time.

We went here because of the reviews... It is a dive, but that doesn't bother me. But they brought out an appetizer for 5, no plates, so we requested plates, they came out dirty...so she took the most dirty one back, shook it off and brought it back out with crumbs, said it was just flour... Ok, so we wiped our plates with the abundance of paper towels provided. Drinks were fine. Food was exceptional! The burger (American) may be the best burger I've ever eaten...half of :) it was huge! The fries were also seasoned and great. Beside the fact that it is cash only and poor service, the cooks know what they are doing :) the bathroom had no toilet paper or towels for hand drying :( I think if the management would train their servers to hustle a bit, it would get 5 stars. The oysters my husband had looked amazing, he liked them, but not the service ( or dive atmosphere... He's a bit of higher class standards)

Great food, cool atmosphere! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is I hated the swinging tables. I almost fell and it was hard to accommodate a high chair with the way the tables were. I loved the live music and can't say enough about the fish and potatoe salad. Yum!!

After reading the reviews I had to give this place a shot... Awesome little joint!! The oyster Rockefeller was the highlight of the meal and the best I have ever had or prepared. It's rustic, cash only, by the water, tucked almost under a bridge, and the drinks are mixed right. Fresh oysters were fabulous. I will be back, when I'm back down here! If you are an oyster person this is a must do!

Great burger and onion rings, but people around us were ordering everything on the menu. Limited seating and cash only but very reasonably prices for good food. When locals go there to eat, then you know you have found good food.
